"It's Never Too Late To Roller Skate Video" :S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom's (MARCH) 2014' Online Mommy Time-Out Video

S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom  (Strong Mothers Altering Autism's Reality Together)

This Month :         "It's Never Too Late To Roller Skate"

Hello S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom's !
This month I finally felt that my 17yr old son with autism was ready to venture in to a Roller Skating Rink. When he was younger there were many sensory issues with Dustin. He was Extremely sensitive to Loud sounds, lights, and especially a crowd of people. I still made attempts to venture in to other places I felt he could handle; however, as he has grown older his sensory issues have minimized quite a bit. I'm certain that he has improved primarily to his therapies, repetition, determination, and of course with love. So on that note; I've decided that it was time to venture in to a Roller Skating Rink for the FIRST Time :) Not sure what to expect considering this is a NEW place to Dustin. So I hope you enjoy this month's video & Remember this is not just a first for you, but a first for Dustin & S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom as well. Wish Me Luck!
Until Next Month.......BIG HUGS

(Strong Mother's Altering Autism's Reality Together)

Welcome Back S.M.A.A.R.T.Moms! I'm so glad you're here to share this very special moment today. Life with autism can be difficult to live with. Since our son, Dustin was about 15mos (when he was diagnosed with autism) we knew our lives were going to be full of ups and downs. However, looking back when he was NOT verbal, we really weren't sure what was in store for his future. Would he be able to speak again? Show affection? Learn? Go to Prom? Or even to Graduate? If this is what you are going through Right Now....Feeling these Emotions and Asking Those Questions about OWN Child with Autism......This video is something S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom really wanted to bring to YOU Especially :)
So from S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom's Heart to ALL of Those Moms, Dads, and Family members who need just a glimmer of "Hope", Here's a BIG HUG & Hats Off to You for being there Unconditionally for that Special Someone YOU Love with Autism.

"Dustin is Going To Prom !" I'm Too Excited to Stay Calm!" :S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom's (MAY) 2014' Mother's Day Video Special

S.M.A.A.R.T.Mom
(Strong Mother's Altering Autism's Reality Together)

Hello S.M.A.A.R.T.Moms!
So glad you could join us this month. May is all about Moms, but this time it's not just for this mom, but for our son Dustin who has autism. He is getting ready to Graduate from school and about to experience his "First" Prom Dance !  As a mom of a soon to be adult with autism this Prom is so much more special than I think some parents take for granted. For me, going to Prom with my older children was a wonderful experience. However, with our youngest Dustin; Autism made just the idea of "Prom" uncertain. So because of that I had to share this moment with all of my Sister  S.M.A.A.R.T.Moms. This month's lesson.....Never feel Uncertain of your child with autism. Instead follow my lead and make the seemingly Impossible....."Positively Possible"
BIG HUGS to Everyone & Have A  Very Magical Mother's Day !  :)
